HBOT Clinics treats only those medical conditions which are approved by the Alberta Health Services and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. There is good clinical research to support the use of hyperbaric oxygen as either a primary or secondary form of therapeutic treatment for the following conditions:
Primary Therapy: - Symptoms occurring as a result of scuba diving related illness (decompression sickness).
- Carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Occurrence of air bubbles in the blood circulation (air or gas embolism).
Secondary Therapy:- Enhancement of healing selected chronic wounds, including diabetic wounds.
- Radiation tissue damage.
- Circulation concerns regarding flaps or grafts (plastic surgery).
- Flesh eating disease (necrotizing soft tissue infection).
- Crush injury, compartment syndrome, other acute traumatic ischemias.
- Serious thermal burns.
- Infected bone (chronic refractory osteomyelitis).
- Acute severe anemia.
- Gas gangrene.
