For those patients living outside of Alberta, HBOT Clinics has billing arrangements with several other provincial health insurance plans. We have treated patients from British Columbia, Yukon, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. There are no user fees or copayments charged to these patients provided they have a medical condition approved for treatment with hyperbaric medicine by their respective provincial jurisdiction.
Upon referral from the physician, patients are given a physical assessment for contra-indications to hyperbaric therapy (see: Assessment). An application for funding is then made to the relevant province to cover the cost of therapy. Treatment will commence upon approval by the provincial health plan.
